Who is Red John?

Theories of adreaskosta (15)

Honestly I am torn about who it is and regardless of my opinion I am extremely excited for the start of the season. My hunch is Brett.

I did want to bring one thing up because others are starting to talk about it again and I haven't heard this perspective talked about.

"He is mar"

A few points:

RJ is far to meticulous to allow a nearly dead man to leave a clue on the wall.
RJ knew, and patrick acknowledged, that Jared told Jane he would tell him who he was if Jane helped him

Mar means, "to inflict damage" or as a noun, "a blemish". I would presume that RJ wrote "he is mar". As to why, I would say RJ was explaining why he killed Jared. Or potentially being "humorous" with Jane because Jared was going to share RJ's identity.

Not sure what to make out of this image of Jane, Lisbon, and Brett...

This article has a link with a quote from Bruno. Basically reaffirming that we will know RJ identity MID-SEASON. The plot from there seems to include the reality of whether Jane will murder RJ or not. Prior Lisbon always questioned this, proclaiming, "I am the law".

I cannot wait to see how it will play out. I believe the most likely and would be favorite RJ is Brett.

It's simple:

Red John (His Red Right Hand) http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/7037/4sh2.png
Brett http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100620225057/thementalist/images/4/4e/Brett.png

Look at the noses and the elongated face. From other small glances at RJ (again in His Red Right Hand, dont have an image) when RJ poisons the lady (I forgot her name at the moment) you catch a one frame second of RJ. He has short black hair. Rules out a few right there.

The remaining suspects have fat short noses and/or more round faces.

Just saw this press release today (posted on the 29th)

http://www.cbs.com/shows/the_mentalist/news/1001022/

Interesting that CBS claims that red johns identity will be revealed by the end of 2013. Either suggesting that we will know who red john is before the season finale, or this season is significantly shorter.

I saw someone post this the other day and wanted to dive into it a little further.

First, the list. I trust the list for two reasons. First, Bruno said it is legit. Second, when you look at Patricks face as Lorelei reads the names, he is clearly showing discontent. Expressing that he was set back yet again.

Now onto the meat. Bob Kirkland is the only suspect on the "list" that Jane hasn't "defeated" mentally in some sort of challenge. In addition, he is the only one that Jane hasn't even challenged. He is the only one that has had an upper hand on Jane.

From that angle, the only one else with that sort of criteria would be Stiles. However, stiles doesn't match the description we have.

Just something that I noticed when watching episodes that had the accused in them. The only one on that list that Jane has not made a mockery of is Bob Kirkland.

That has been one thing that has bothered me. B. Partridge is the most likely suspect, but Jane has walked all over him. Red John is a "showman" and "artist". He sees himself better than others. Taunting Jane "Give up yet?".

There is credible evidence that many others have pointed to Bob, but I hadn't heard anyone specify this.
