Who is Red John?

Theories of NikMenta (36)

I think the end of Red John was just irrelevant, firstly from what fans
were expecting and secondly from the clues they provided over the
years.

I also believe that Bruno Heller just wanted Red John to be a character that
no one could ever explain how he would be RJ.So the clues don't add up,
therefore there will be no flashbacks.
In addition, to me it seems that
Jane tries to forget everything about RJ and what happened the previous
10 years. So another clue that there will be no flashbacks (except of a
possible RJ return.)

Is Red John really dead?Is McAllister Red John?Is 6x08 the last Red John episode we will ever have the chance to watch? Will they ignore the fact that we need answers/flashbacks etc.?Certainly hope not.

I'm just clueless about a possible RJ return, so I'm not that optimistic.

i just want to see Jane's reaction in a possible return of Red john.
Imagine that.HOLY Jesus.
Although, if the show continues the way it is going now, I'm not that willing to watch it anymore.
The Mentalist's identity was Red John.Without him I can't see the point of the show.

On the other hand, if RJ returns and Jane still wants to kill him, I don't know, it's kinda like Jane becoming a serial killer and a maniac eventually.
So, our beloved creators of the show, really fucked up.I'm sorry to state that, but it's true. They drove the show into a dead end.

And if RJ isn't coming back, I still want the answers in all our questions.

"Jane and the FBI are investigating the murder of a high-tech chart plotter, who might have discovered a spy network before his death.Meanwhile Rigsby and Van Pelt are the traces of a disturbing conspiracy."

Red John isn't afraid of death.

Season 4 finale;

PJ: "Go to hell"
RJ: "As you well know Patrick, there is no hell. When I die I won't be punished."
This conversation shows that RJ knows he is going to die sooner or later, still he doesn't care, and still he continues to live his life on the edge.

RJ kills for the immediate pleasure of the act, and he does it in a way to offer fear to the people. He is a SHOWMAN.
Killing is his business.Cutting his victims open with his knife, feeling their fear.He watches them die and he feels nice.So I suppose that his adrenaline is at the maximum when he kills, he feels pleased and his feeling the heat.
And remember the episode where Jane has fugue, there is a firefighter that is stabbed to death and his wife stated: "My husband was addicted in adrenaline.Definitely when he was stabbed, it was the greatest excitement of his whole life."
I believe same goes to Red John. When he dies, he feels it, he feels the pleasure. This is my point of view.Remember Dummar, end of season 1, he got shot by Jane, and he died laughing and saying "Red John". Now this is a proper way to die for a psycho.

Red John has phobias like everybody else.Phobias that may seem ridiculus to others.Still I can't see a good reason why RJ is afraid of dying.

And by the way, how many fears Red John has?
A)Fear of birds.Even Sheldon from Big Bang Theory learned to tolerate birds eventually.
B)Fear of heights.Very common fear.
C)Fear of death.
D)Fear that someone is better than him.(He kills to punish those who expose him just to prove he is better)

I've just finished watching "Sherlock" and I realized something:

Supposing that Sherlock Holmes and Patrick Jane have similar skills,
(They do have a lot of common skills, like extremely high observation, arrogance, narcisism, they consult the police solving crimes etc)

Then, Moriarty and Red John should also have similar skills.
Well they don't.The way Red John appeared in the 8th episode makes me state that.
When Sherlock meets Moriarty, he has a gun.But Moriarty has 3-4 men pointing him with snipers.
When Patrick meets Red John, he has a gun and a pigeon (well...) and Red John has Cordero (HOLY crap) and a lady with a knife?

OK, don't get me wrong, but Red John is gay. I was watching the series and I've been obsessed with Red John.I started to be on his side, just because I wanted the hunt to go on.From what we watched for 5 seasons, He was a human being far beyond others.Elegant, strong, determined, secretive, clever, manipulative, he was there and he wasn't there. He was extremely educated, sophisticated, arrogant, playful, he managed to take advantage of the pain of the others and turn them on his side eventually. He killed because he had mental issues and a childhood wound that made him hate women and use them only for sexual relationships. He is a common psycho? No.Because he is like Patrick. And Patrick has something that common people don't have.

And then we watch episode 8.Red John appears to be totally predictable, dumb as hell, sexomaniac, pervert, scared by a pidgeon and afraid of death. This man, this man has killed over 40 people, manipulated thousands of people, seduced the sexiest women, still he is afraid of death and he calls 911.Season 4 finale:
PJ: "Go to hell"
RJ: "As you well know Patrick, there is no hell. When I die I won't be punished."

So,why he is so much afraid of dying?I don't know the creators really messed up.

Red John is meant to be someone that fulfils all those things that they have shown to us the first 5 seasons. That's why people refuse to believe that RJ is dead. It's not the Sheriff, it's not the actor. It's the attidute.

And only one question comes to my mind.

WHY?

Great theories here, if only Heller could just decide to copy one of them.
Don't mean to disapoint you guys, I want is as bad as you want it, but Red John isn't coming back.(Fingers Crossed)

What mindfucks me is that the first 5 seasons and 7 episodes are like iPhone series. And episode 8 is compared with iPotato 6.Or like Bolt finishing last in 100m.Or like Barcelona dropped to Division B.Or Stoopkid coming up with a plausible theory.Or like Justin Bieber singing a good song.(OK that's impossible but you get my point)

Doesn't fit. It's like suddenly all the cast members and writers lost their talent?
