Who is Red John?

Theories of NikMenta (36)

Things to be missed:

-The random appearances of CBI Ron.
-Cho and Risgby's conversations.
-Van Pelt.
-The sudden face on the wall we watched at several crime scenes and Brett Partridge analyzing the scene.
-Bob Kirkland.
-Lisbon always confronting Jane instead of agreeing with him.
-This darkness and sadness in Jane's personality. Not a happy hippie.
-Jane solving weekly crimes in a fascinating way.Not running away from the FBI...
-Red John. (of course)
-Episodes involving Visualise.And Bret Stiles.
-Cho's more screen time.
-Lorelei Martins.
-Red John background music.
-Jane's teacup.

For 5 seasons and 7 episodes I was kinda obsessed with the show.I tried to figure out who Red John is, to put clues together visiting sites like this etc.
Then I saw ep.8.

*Anyway, I just wanted to share a dream I had last night.I saw that a lot of people posted different theories over the storyline about the Red John reveal and death. Then the others voted them. After that. a lot of "The Mentalist" fans started a site named
www.MoneyForRedJohn.com
where people could donate money in order to make our own episode with our own script and the Mentalist team.(of course). That would be awesome.(And impossible too, ok I know right? :) ).I believe that came to my mind after this thing I've heard about a millionaire who was willing to give 60 million dollars in order to make one last episode of "Breaking Bad"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???

P.S.:Please continue posting theories about RJ's return, you are giving me
hope! <3

And something last, I totally agree with the guy who posted the theory:
Jane said that "Reede Smith is not RJ cause of his breakdown and RJ wouldn't do that even if he was acting"
So why the hell after he kills the Sheriff he doesn't come up with the same conclusion?+The fact that McAllister gives the whole "hypnotized guy" vibe.
Two posibilities here:
1st:Another plot hole.(We must admit there are a lot)
2nd:Another brilliant masterplan by Jane to catch RJ?Hope so.

This site is dying, so I guess we all accepted the Red John's end.
Thank you for the great theories.

Bruno Heller makes fun of us."ha ha ha I tricked the people into watching the show for 5 years and everything meant nothing eventually"

I only hope there is an interviewer or something to ask Bruno Heller some questions.I'd really like to see how he would answer.

-Why "The Mentalist" turned out to be an almost identical copy of "Profiler"?
-How did Red John(McAllister) figured out the list even before Jane?
And no, "he is a real psychic" is an unacceptable answer, especially after the trick RJ did with Sophie Miller.
-He is Mar?
-Why Jane put McAllister in the list at the first place?
-Why the hell the real RJ actually played on 1 fcking episode before season 6?
-How Jane knew he is going to meet McAllister? (pidgeon with him,and only McAllister showed his fear of birds)
-How comes no one gives a DAMN about Visualise, Haffner and especially Stiles?
-Which is the connect between McAllister and Visualise?
-How did Stiles know so much about Red John?
-Why you didn't come up with who is going to be RJ before the show starts?
-Why RJ acts so stupidly at the 6th seasons?
-Why RJ kills partridge and why RJ leaves Lisbon alive? And don't answer "Because of the pidgeons"
How he killed Partridge, brought down Lisbon, painted the smiley face on her, called Jane and acted so calmly?
-Why the 8th episode is so poor?Seems like you had a lack of effort creativity etc.
-RJ turned out to be a dumb, still he managed to control a huge association among Law Enforcement, manipulate people into loving him, and seduce women?

Those and many moree...........

GUYS.

Stay focused.
This site is meant for the people to share theories, ideas, thoughts about the show.
Don't argue with each other. We are all upset about the end of Red John saga.
So, we all have common concerns and goals.

I will present some facts that I think that nobody would disagree.

-Some people are upset because Red john turned out to be
Sheriff Thomas McAllister.
But, I think the greatest percent of the viewers are highly disapointed from the whole situation around RJ's reveal and death, not the identity of RJ.Because we have to admit, Xander Barkley is a great actor and capable enough to pull out the Red John role.I believe that even if Reede Smith turned out to be RJ, if it was presented approprietely, it would leave the audience pleased.
(With "approprietely" I mean, a proper way of revelation, a proper way of killing RJ, a proper behaviour by RJ, flashbacks, a proper script-dialogues-scenario.)

-A lot of theories about RJ's return out there.
I love you guys for this. But, again I suppose that the 90% of us know well that this will never happen. We all still keep our hope alive. But we must face it: This is extremely unlikely to happen. For a lot of different reasons. (ex. Interviews by the creators and actors, the lack of "red' in the titles of the episodes, the whole "FBI" thing that they are trying to sell us, etc)

-Uncountable mistakes/plot holes/script errors/clues that don't follow each other/ that are all made by the creators.

-Those two new characters are irksome at the maximum.

-For those who are about to watch the rest of the series no matter what,
(including me), they are going to watch a brand new show.

-We all really enjoyed the first 5 seasons and 7 episodes.
(And mostly those who involved Red John)
And as a greek poet wrote,
"The one that matters is the journey, not the destination"

-All the original actors of "The Mentalist" are amazing.
(ex.Simon Baker, Robin Tunney , Tim Kang,
Owain Yeoman,
Amanda Righetti). Also great occasional actors such as: Jack Plotnick, Kevin Corrigan, Gregory Itzin, John Troy Donovan (aka CBI Ron :D ),

Malcolm McDowell,

Reed Diamond, Xander Berkeley, Emmanuelle Chriqui ( :P ).

-Personally, I learnt soooo much from the show.I didn't ever believe that a man could learn so much from a TV series, and I was absolutely wrong.Things I've learnt or appreciated after watching this show:
-Tea is cooler than I initialy thought. :P
-William Blake is an awesome poet.I've read all his poems.
-Classical music (and especially Bach0, rocks.
-Believe it or not, I've learnt a lot of things about human behaviour, lies, bluffs, tricks, cold reading, memory palace, Mentalist stuff.
-Criminals CAN be awesome.
-Cops are corrupted. (OK that's not a rule, but it applies at many situations)
-Violence is not the answer.
-People aren't always what they seem to be.
And many many more......

Hope you enjoyed.Don't stop posting on the site and remember that anyone can have his own opinion.(Wrong or wright it's an opinion)

I've just finished watching the S05EP13, "The Red Barn" and I got pissed off.

In the last scene of the episode we see Lisbon and Jane at his "place" in CBI, talking about the list of possible Red John suspects. He says that from the 2100+ people he has shaken hands with after his wife and daughter were killed the 800+ are women and RJ is probably a man. Then he says that from the 1300 remaining names the 100+ are excluded because he only met them or talked to them a little and never saw them again ever after.

So, why the hell McAllister is in the list at the first place?
God.Heller is playing us.

Mislead No.1: Rosalind Harker's description.
Sheriff is semi-bald while Rosalind said : "straight short hair'.Also she didn't mention about the mustache that McAlister had back then.(She had sexual relationship with Red John, how she couldn't notice a mustache?)

Mislead No.2: McAllister losing on rock paper scissors. Not something that Red John would do.He really seemed so angry when he was loosing over and over again. Some might say he made a performance.Sure.But remember that Red John is a narcissist, he would never manage to lose even in this childish game.

Mislead No.3: He is beaten up by Risgby, still not a clue that Red John is mad at him.OK that's not a direct mislead but still.

Mislead No.4: Red John managed to manipulate people and he managed to seduce attractive women.(ex. Lorelei Martins).McAllister doesn't seem to have that ability.

Mislead No.5: Red John gives away to Jane the poem that seems to inspire a whole association, powerful enough to cover up major crimes. What was he thinking? If he is indeed a member(or the leader for that matter) then he risked to expose his own work at his arch enemy?Doesn't seem right. He knew Jane would find out eventually. Why he would ever risk to reveal such a thing? My guess, Red John is against the Blake association.

Mislead No.6: Red John loves classical  music (Bach) and he is a tea drinker same as Jane.McAllister doesn't seem to be that kind of guy.

Mislead No.7: In an episode we get to see Red John's hands. From that we got the clue that Red John wears a ring.McAllister never wears a ring in his appearances.

Mislead No.8: The house Lisbon found Partridge was full of pidgeons. However Red John managed to slaughter Partridge and make his mark upon Lisbon, while McAllister loses over a SINGLE pigeon.

Mislead No.9: Season 5 finale, "Until you catch me, or I catch you...".McAllister had the chance to kill Jane at the Wedding in Red-Roof scene and get rid of him.

Mislead No.10: Red John pays a PI to bug CBI (yeah right) and then while trying to kill her, she manages to see his arm tattoo (of course). How?He should wear a tank top or something, doesn't make sense.Still, Red John rarely leaves his victims alive, and only if he runs out of time.He didn't use his classic knife though. It would make his life easier. So what the hell?It seems a kind of mistake that the real Red John as we know him from the 5 first seasons would never do.

Mislead No.11: "He is Mar' That.

Mislead No.12: McAllister never really said that he IS Red John.

Mislead No.13: Red John isn't afraid of death, he can't be.It's like you are a doctor and you are afraid of blood.

Mislead No.14: Red John plays with Patrick, he can kill him anytime, but he prefers to play seek and hide with him.So, why reveal himself?Makes no sense. It's like you decide to finish the game that you are winning.

Mislead No.15: McAlister meets Jane and the only cover he has, is this dumb-ass Oscar Cordero (Sorry. He irks me.He is irksome.) and some random lady with a knife?Sorry but the real Red John in a meeting like this, would absolutely wear a mask or something and in addition he would have at least 3 hidden partners with guns.

Mislead No.16: Even if Red John is a member of the Blake association, he would never agree to mark himself.

Reede Smith: Blah blah blah blah
Robert Kirkland: I know what you are doing
Reede Smith: Blah blah blah blah
Robert Kirkland: Help me how? (with an ironic smile on his face)
Reede Smith: Blah blah blah blah
Robert Kirkland: I don't believe you.
Reede Smith: Common Bob get out of the van.Start running.
Robert Kirkland: Just do it here. (He knows he gonna die, still so fearless, so calm, somehow sure that Jane will keep his words and "finish the thing".He isn't afraid of death, not a second.Still so smart, determined, creepy, elegant, strong, completed character. Also great actor, and he has a twin brother?!)

Thomas McAlister: He played in 3 episodes in all the 6 seasons. The scenario is an identical copy of 'Profiler". Not the look that Red John should have to attract women and manipulate them. Brought down by a pigeon(!?),'Please don't kill me aaahh' then he calls 911.Great actor, don't get me wrong but WHY?

You see the irony here.
