Who is Red John?

Theories of JLCurtis (12)

I have just one simple question.... How far in advance are episodes of The Mentalist filmed??? The reason that I ask is that we all know that the episode Red John was originally supposed to air on Nov. 17th but was pushed back a week. This leaked episode was filmed on Nov. 6th, only 11 days before it was suppose to air. Is that normal????

Reasons I think the leaked episode is a fake.....

1. The acting was horrible in some of the scenes. The actors looked like they were about to bust out laughing during certain scenes.

2. Bruno Heller himself wrote the Red John episode and nothing about it seemed to his callaber of writing.

3. If that was the real episode, they will lose millions of views and they know it.

4. The show is about cons and what better con could they pull on their audience than a fake episode.

5. Nothing and I mean NOTHING was explained.

6. The link to this episode is on CBS FB page as well as The Mentalist FB and they haven't even tried to remove it.

7. And this is the main reason I believe it's a fake. My husband doesn't watch the show but he knows that I'm obsessed. I told him how horrible it was and he told me that it sounded like we had been Gemini Tricked. I asked him why he said that and he said, "You know Gemini's are tricksters. It's a twin thing." HE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE TWIN ASPECTS OF THE SHOW!!!!!

Someone mentioned the change scene from this last weeks episode as being important and I have thought that from the moment that I saw it. While everyone else was focused on the tea cup breaking, which I viewed as a symbol of everything coming to an end and this phase of The Mentalist crashing into a thousand pieces and to never be the same again. I thought the change seen was odd and out of place. I thought it was a message for Patrick to meet whoever at the church. It has been my belief that there was a Saints medallion among the change and now I'm sure of it. I did some research on churches in Sacremento and discovered that one is Saint Paul's Cathedral. In the change was a medallion of Saint Paul, which is what led Patrick to that specific church.

Not so much a theory on who Red John is, but more of a theory on the sequence of events on the next episode...

Patrick is approached by Bertram in the church and is about to kill him when he begs for Mercy. Right before Patrick shoots him, he admits that he is not RJ but he knows where he is. He tricks Patrick and takes off running explaining why Patrick shoots at him in the church.

Next, Patrick spots someone watching him at the cemetary and a foot chase takes place. It is McAllister and during this chase he crashes through the sliding glass door. Not sure if they catch him or he gets away.

Finally, Patrick gets a call from RJ wanting to meet him in the park. This is it, the moment of truth. Bertram is still on the run, but not RJ. The team pull their guns on the FBI agent to give Patrick the chance to face RJ alone in the park. I personally don't think McAllister or Bertram is RJ, but at this point everything is possible. I expect to see Partridge, but this scenerio leaves it open for any of the 7 suspects to step out and face Patrick in their final showdown.

I want to discuss the sequence of events in the promo for next weeks episode because I'm having a problem with it.

The promo makes it appear as if Patrick has his final showdown in the church but this last episode ended with Patrick in the church so I think that entire scene will be at the first of the show because we know we will have scenes in the graveyard, and what looks like a park when he's talking to Lisbon and the team. Plus, McAllister breaks through a sliding glass door of a home and it looks like a woman is in the corner. I think the promo is misleading us on purpose. Whoever he is talking to in the church either isn't RJ or he escapes and is killed somewhere else.

Remember that last weeks promo showed the press conference first, but that didn't happen until half way through this weeks episode.

In the 11th hour, I am changing my theory. Well, not so much changing my theory as I am accepting other theories as correct as well. I never thought I would end up with this conclusion but at the same time, it's the only thing that makes sense anymore. So here it is....

There are 3 Red John's. Yes, 3. That is why there are 3 dots on the tattoo. I am convinced that Partridge and McAllister are 2 of them but I'm not sure if the third is Bertram or Michael Kirkland. This is why so many of the clues lead us all in different directions. I'm sure only one of them killed Patrick's family and I have no idea which one but I think we are all going to get what we want in the end.

I watched this video of a guy watching an early screening of the show and that is when it all made sense. It is basically, an unholy trinity. I honestly can't believe that I have changed my mind in such a dramatic way, but I have.

Is anybody else wondering where the con is? Patrick is known for his long cons to catch people from week to week, yet the last 2 episodes have shown no signs of any kind of con. At least none that I can spot. I feel like we are missing some key info such as the gun shot before the explosion. Something is going on that we, the audience, haven't been privy to as of yet. Not sure if any of the team is in on the con or if it's just Patrick by himself, but there is no way that there isn't some kind of scam going on. Maybe McAllister is in on it, but I just don't know. For the first time since the show began, I am completely lost and I hate admitting that.

On a side note, is anyone else having trouble accessing the site in the last 24 hours? Wondering if I'm having internet problems or if this site is having server problems.
